Abstract

The cardio-respiratory capacity is one of the most considered evaluations among the general population, mainly through moderate effort physical tests. To establish these types of tests, test correlations that measure the VO2 máx. are generally used. The aim of this study is to determine the correlation between the obtained cardio-frequency in a sub-maximum or moderate effort test and the maximum consumption of oxygen estimated in liters/minute in the ACSM test. To do this, a non-experimental cross section design was employed with male tertiary education individuals. After evaluating the subjects with two tests, a correlation was found between cardio-frequency and VO2 máx. of r =-0,651 with p <0,0001. Some authors state correlations and levels of significant similarity in the validation of sub-maximum estimation test for the maximum oxygen consumption.
