Medición de la Condición Física de los Estudiantes de Pedagogía en Educación Física, utilizando el Simce de la Especialidad

Abstract

Fitness and nutritional status are indisputable health risk factors, which have been considered as elements to be evaluated in measuring the quality system of education in physical education, whose results have not been encouraging. The objective of this research is to analyze the physical condition of physical education pedagogy students at the University Autónoma de Chile, Temuco campus, by utilizing the tests introduced by the Ministry of Education. The methodology consisted of a non-experimental, descriptive, cross-sectional design. The sample group of 239 students was selected by using a non-probabilistic criterion. The obtained results classify students at an 81% satisfactory level; and showed better performance of males in the cardio respiratory test, while females displayed better nutritional condition.
