Revisión teórica del salto de altura, técnica Fosbury-flop análisis descriptivo de las fases

Abstract

The objective of this theoretical review is to identify and define the phases of the Fosbury-Flop technique for the high-jump and to establish whether one phase predominates over another. Studies were reviewed that determined both the kinematic factors, such as biomechanical factors, as well as the mechanical characteristics in each phase and the assessment of biomechanics in different parts of the body during the jump. This technique was performed by Dick Fosbury at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City. After Fosbury established the competition’s new record, this technique was named the Fosbury Flop. Since then, different biomechanical studies and analyses have been performed of this new high jump technique, recognizing three phases: approach phase, take-off phase, and flight phase. The objective remains to overcome the bar at a variable height, but the technique has changed.
