Abstract

The physical activity benefits are widely extended around population of any age, especially at the el-derly, it supposed a preventive and therapeutic strategy against aging. Inside a comprehensive attention concept, permanent and effective, are found physical activity interventions for elderly, which frequently use music and rhythmic activities as main strategy. Mixed interventions, which develop strength and cardiovascular resistence appear more effective, and it is considered that when are joined with rhythmic activities is getting more benefits on physical and mental health of elderly. This review aims highlight the effectivity of rhythmic activities in elderly population, basically in the definition of working inten-sity who reports benefits on elderly health, avoiding harmful effects, becoming an alternative interven-tion with this age group.
